NEW DELHI: GST revenues in April touched the best ever stage of about Rs 1.68 lakh crore, up 20 per cent from the year-ago interval, on improved compliance, the Finance Ministry stated on Sunday.
In April 2022, 1.06 crore GST returns in GSTR-3B had been filed.
The gross GST assortment in April 2022 is an all-time excessive and Rs 25,000 crore greater than the earlier highest assortment of Rs 1.42 lakh crore recorded in March.
The gross GST income collected in April is Rs 1,67,540 crore, of which CGST is Rs 33,159 crore, SGST is Rs 41,793 crore, IGST is Rs 81,939 crore (together with Rs 36,705 crore collected on import of products) and cess is Rs 10,649 crore (together with Rs 857 crore collected on import of products), the ministry stated.
In an announcement, the ministry stated that there’s a “clear enchancment within the compliance behaviour, which has been a results of varied measures taken by the tax administration to nudge taxpayers to file returns well timed, to creating compliance simpler and strict enforcement motion was taken towards errant taxpayers recognized primarily based on information analytics and artificial intelligence“.
